Linesss

While I was doing my art project that had to be a drawing composed of only lines and different forms of lines, I was reading the lyrics to a song I was listening to and noticed each letter i read is made up of lines. It got me thinking that everything is pretty much made up of lines from the motion of electrons in molecules that sustain life, to the world around us that we live in and use for our survival, and entertainment.

What i focused on most was the written languages of human beings. I compared our current written languages with images of historic hieroglyphics and other ancient languages. I saw that the use of lines rather than shapes is way better and provides for a better understanding of the language.

As you could see, shapes were most probably used to represent certain phrases or actions and might not have been used to mean a certain sound that our voices can make, such as the letters we use today. Humans can make many sounds and designing the written languages with lines makes it much easier than shapes to identify, because of the fact that lines can be put together in so many various ways. It's also way more convenient, and efficient because it takes up way less space as you could see, and is way much more recognizable.

I went back to my art project and kept on drawing a whole world of lines, appreciating that they are clear examples of what could be behind the structure of this incredible universe.

Skate Shoes

While I was trying to capture the last moments of beautiful outdoor weather I noticed something about the way I was skateboarding. I felt like I was using the width of my large skate shoes to control how the board was moving. Skate shoes are significantly different then the usual shoe.

You can see how much wider it is and I never noticed the significance of that design till now. I've always felt a difference when I skate with my casual shoes then when I skate with my skate shoes. A thinner design would cover smaller surface area on the skateboard and have minimum control over the the board, while my fat shoe design gives you much better grip, which means much better skating!
